Banjo Paterson

The famous person Banjo Paterson's picture in on the $10 note. He was born at Barrambla, near Orange on 17 Feb 1864 and died on 5th Feb 1941. He had many occupations such as a poet, ballad writer, journalist, composer, horseman and solicitor.

When he published his first edition (The Man from Snowy River) it sold out in a week and went through four editions in six months. It made him become very famous. He also composed the song (waltzing Matilda) which is famous even now.

He was a war correspondent and worked with The Sydney Morning Herald and was the editor of the evening news (Sydney). During the war he became an ambulance driver to the Australian Voluntary Hospital in France. People respected him because he contributed very much to the country.

He married Alice Walker in Tenterfield in 1903.Their first home was in Queen street, Woollahra. They had two children, a boy and a girl.

Hello Marion,
My name is Salina . I come from Canton, China I've been here for a long time.I'm a new student in St George TAFE I loved this TAFE ,the area is very big sometimes I will lost.I love the envelopment and the facilities here,eg, the library is very big has alot of difference books to borrow and the car park  also are big has plenty parking space. also has the yoga class here too.  my daughter and I already try one lesson for free it feels very good we want to be continue the lesson.I love this course and you has a very good experience and patients to teaches us .and other students are friendly and helpful too,I'm happy here and I find out this course so interesting  and everything is new for me here, eg, blogger it is new for me, I hear people say it all the time but don't know what is it now I know it.We learn something new everyday I feel quiet happy in here.
